ChatGPT
ChatGPT adds PublicWWW as a custom MCP server and signs in with OAuth: no token to copy.
Adding the server
- In the ChatGPT sidebar open Plugins, press Add at the top right and choose Add custom MCP server.
- Name:
PublicWWW. Description and icon are optional. - Connection: Server URL,
https://api.publicwww.com/mcp. - Authentication: OAuth. Leave Advanced OAuth settings as ChatGPT finds them - it reads our settings from the server itself, and no client ID or secret is needed.
- Tick "I understand and want to continue" and press Create as a plugin.
- PublicWWW opens: sign in with the one-time code from your email and press Allow on "Connect ChatGPT to PublicWWW?". You are sent back to ChatGPT.
ChatGPT now shows under Connected apps on your profile page.
Custom MCP servers are added in ChatGPT on the web. In a Business or Enterprise workspace an admin may have to allow them first. ChatGPT has no way to send a token in a header, so with ChatGPT it is always OAuth.
Using it
Ask in a new chat and name PublicWWW, so ChatGPT knows which tool you mean: "Search PublicWWW for sites that load angular.min.js". It decides on its own when to call the server; the searches are charged to your PublicWWW plan, not to ChatGPT.
ChatGPT warns that custom MCP servers introduce risk. Both PublicWWW tools only read: they search and report your quota, and cannot change anything in your PublicWWW account or anywhere else.
